Ward 32 councillor assures residents of a brighter tomorrow

Dimakatso Moloisane, ward councillor for ward 32 highlights numerous projects which will benefit his community.

Serving a community has never been an easy task, especially when dealing with uncontrollable obstacles.

Ward 32 councillor Dimakatso Moloisane shared details of certain areas in his ward that had issues with service delivery. “Linbro Park has had the greatest setbacks with the ongoing load-shedding. We’ve had reports of residents having no power for five days,” said Moloisane.

“We are currently finding alternative energy supplies for Linbro Park. Greenstone Energy is an independent power-producing company situated in the same area. It has been one of the organisations that we worked with in getting over 7 000 Linbro Park households off the Eskom grid.

“The only challenge that we are facing is waiting for the approval of Eskom because the power plants are ready. Residents and investors in the area are gradually leaving due to this predicament.”
According to Moloisane, Greenstone Energy used solar and hydro energy to generate and supply power to people.

Talking about issues in Klipfontein he said, “The roads of Klipfontein have been atrocious, we commenced our operation to fix the roads. This project will have two phases – the first phase is to repair and install the stormwater drainage system in the area and the second phase is to add new tar on the damaged roads. The Klipfontein wellness centre project is currently put on hold due to financial issues but will be in full swing once everything is sorted.”

And on Buccleuch, Moloisane said, “My battle is to push the Johannesburg Roads Agency to work with me on getting the roads of Buccleuch resurfaced and streetlights installed. There are parts of Buccleuch and Linbro Park that do not have streetlights. I believe that we can get things done with the help of everyone.”
