#HaveYourSay: What does it mean to be a youth in South Africa and what are your goals for 2023?
It's challenging; there's a lot happening with our economy and politics is not making it any easier for anyone especially for the youth. Our leaders are failing us and I guess it's difficult to function in a system that also wants you to fail.
MIKA ZEEDERBERG: It's an interesting expierence that not a lot of people for other countries would understand. There is a rich form of diversity where you see everywhere and it pulls you in. My goals for the year is to enjoy my life more. The couple of years taught me that life is unpredictable and you just have to enjoy the big and small moments in your life. Photo: Motlatsi Mailula
With the majority of the youth heading back to school/university and some going back to work, a reporter from Sandton Chronicle asked a series of questions targeting the youth who visited the Organic Market in Bryanston.
Questions: What does it mean to be a youth in South Africa and what are your goals for 2023?
JESSIE MCKENZIE: South Africa is really the definition of youth. It’s easy to feel like you belong to something without any fear of judgements. It’s a culture to say the least. My goal is to realise that life is far more bigger than me. I also want to understand more of the people I surround myself with.
