Buccleuch Residents and Ratepayers Association thanks community for 2022

Lauren Nightingale, of the Buccleuch Residents and Ratepayers Association (BRA), hopes that City of Johannesburg will be able to start pushing service delivery as their main focus in 2023.

With only days away from the new year, Lauren Nightingale, of the Buccleuch Residents and Ratepayers Association (BRA) took the time to share with the public what their challenges and successes were for the year.

For the majority of Buccleuch residents, life has not been smooth sailing, especially after the destruction of the low-water bridge located on Bridge Road earlier this year.

With the presence of the association and the new ward councillor of Ward 32, Dimakatso Moloisane, the ultimate mission of restoring Buccleuch back to its beautiful form has been in full swing since the start of the year.

“The community has been proactive in trying to clean up the streets and have assisted with logging calls for by-law infringements and other service delivery-related issues. We have a local sober living facility who volunteer their services to cut grass, litter picking and the removal of illegal signage,” said Nightingale who is the chairperson of the association.

In her words of appreciation, she thanked all those who committed themselves to improving the lives of others.

“We wish to encourage residents to get to know their neighbours, join street chat groups and the residents association and be safe during the holidays. We hope that the City of Johannesburg under its current leadership are able to start pushing service delivery as their main focus. We are looking forward to a busy 2023 and hope to announce a few initiatives that will benefit our community,” concluded Nightingale.
