Netball Super League reaches its conclusion

Netball players from all over Gauteng all meet up at the Sandton Action Sports arena for the finals of the Netball Super League.

The Netball Super League reached its conclusion on November 26 at the Sandton Action Sports Arena.

With over 100 participants competing for ultimate bragging rights in an arena that produces the best teams, the facility atmosphere was heated from start to finish.

Night manager, Sam Ndlovu shared his thoughts on the netball league, “The league which started four months ago is focused on sports arenas from all over Gauteng competing against each other through the game of netball. With teams coming from Midrand, Fourways to Benoni, the participation has been growing by the year.”

The league, which happens annually, features a variety of divisions starting from U23 to teams over 35 with mixed and an all-female squads.

Winning teams of the league:

Men’s division – Hillfox
Ladies A final – Meyersdal
Ladies B2 final – Sandton
Mixed final U35 – Centurion
Mixed open final – Vaal

“The last finals finished just after 19:00. Games were played in great spirit and action netball was the winner of the day with loads of new friends made on and off the courts. Sandton Action Sports would like to congratulate and thank all players, spectators and organisers on the day. A special thank you goes out to Hazel, Dani and Fleur-de-lis Florist for all their help and assistance,” said the manager of the facility, Grant Webster.

Paramedics were present during the league and reported no serious injuries at the arena. According to Webster, some results from other divisions have not been confirmed due to the recalculations of points. Webster stated that all the winners of the league will be announced in early December.
