“Daydream is a song about wanting to help someone escape from their depression. However, both people get trapped in the dream world, and don’t return to reality,” said September.

He added that the inspiration for the song came to him unexpectedly one night when a melody got stuck in his head. He could not sleep until he had finished writing the song.

“It is special to me because it is the first pop song that I wrote where it felt like I have truly found my sound.”

This follows the release of catchy tunes such as Cuddle Up, Little Things, Sweetness and Analog Heart, which were all extremely well received and charted on several hit parades.

September has more than a decade’s experience in the industry and a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the Wits School of Arts.

Over the years, he has had several career highlights, including performing at Afriski, opening for Francois van Coke at the Misty Waters Festival and co-hosting an online show with Graeme Watkins during the lockdown.
