Children walk the walk at Sandton City

Marketing manager of Rookie USA South Africa, Tebogo Motlhamme, says the fashion show for the kids and by the kids held at Sandton City was more than what she expected and thanks everyone for participating.

The majority of Sandton City visitors were surprised and excited to see a special fashion runway event which was different from the rest.

Rookie USA organised a show of a lifetime inside the mall showcasing various clothing brands to the public. Aside from the exhibition, the models who were all children were what stole the show that evening.

In the build up of the annual Africa Fashion International week, kids clothing store, Rookie USA, had their own time to shine with children, parents and guardians. With over 200 participants at the event on November 17, the show proved to be a huge success.

Models who ranged from the ages a young as a couples of months old to 14 were not at all intimidated by the public fixated on them during their big walk. Most of the models displayed some of their dance routines which got the crowd joining in on the fun.

“What perfect way to do a fashion showcase promoting what the offer is than to have the target market . We didn’t want a regular show were the kids just walk in and out and then it’s done. It took us four months to reach what everyone saw today. My highlight of the evening was seeing the smiles and hearing the cheers from the audiences. The other was seeing the kids go on stage and enjoying themselves, they did amazing. I thank everyone for showing up,” said the marketing manager of Rookie USA South Africa, Tebogo Motlhamme.

Mogale Mohale, who attended the show with his wife and son shared his expierence of the event. “When we arrived our son was agitated due to seeing a lot of faces at once, but once he saw the kids on stage he instantly lit up with excitement,” said Mohale.
