Sandton saints triumph at Saints Water Polo Invitational
St David’s Marist and St Stithians Girls College recently took home the gold at the highly anticipated Saints Water Polo Invitational.
St David’s Marist Inanda and St Stithians Girls’ College were among the big winners at this year’s Saints Water Polo Invitational.
The aquatic centre came alive as St Stithians College in Bryanston hosted the 28th annual tournament for both colleges and preparatory schools.
Despite weather challenges and some technical issues due to load-shedding, the invitational was expertly run.
St David’s Marist Inanda took gold in the junior boys’ section while St Stithians Girls’ College took gold in the senior girls’ section.

Chairman of the Saints Water Polo Parent’s Committee Russell Haworth said the invitational is arguably one of the biggest schools
single-venue water polo tournaments.
“We are hugely proud of this fact and appreciative of the many people that are involved in making this incredible tournament the success that it is.
“It is truly awesome to welcome our participating teams, parents and supporters back to our Saints Aquatics Centre for this year’s event – which can now take place all at one venue, making use of our recently completed 50m Fina spec swimming pool.”
