Crawford International Sandton campus hosts fun ‘glo’ fest

Crawford International Sandton’s foundation phase hosts a fun interactive session to show their families all the work that they have done in class.

Crawford International’s foundation phase recently celebrated its 2022 Global Learning Outcomes (GLO) Fest.

The event, facilitated by grades one to three, provided the learners with an opportunity to show their parents some of the projects and work that they do each day. This included their religious enrichment subjects, and music and visual arts departments.

According to the school’s project coordinator Nadia Cooke, there was an array of activities on offer for everyone to enjoy.

“Our ballet learners shone brightly in their dance performances, physical education games and exciting computer tasks were just a few of the collaborative activities available.

“Over this past term, the Grade 3 learners have been involved in a puppetry-making workshop. After watching and being inspired by an expert, experienced puppeteer, they began writing a puppet show script of their own, in their drama lessons, creating puppets in visual arts lessons, and painting stage backdrops in technology lessons, this all culminating in a puppet show for their families to watch as the audience in a magnificent puppet theatre.”

Various artworks created by the learners were on display.

Families also visited the hall where the children’s artwork was on display before ending the night off with a picnic under the stars.

Parents join their children as they participate in an array of activities.

“[The picnic] culminated in a surprise flash mob dance display which was a delight to behold. Well done to all the teachers for facilitating a magnificent experience, one which will not be forgotten by our precious learners for many years to come,” said Cooke.
