Empact Group celebrates Heritage Day with braai competition

Public relation representative of Empact Group situated in Frankenwald, Annie Hodes, announces the best braai dishes in celebration of Heritage Day.

The spirit of ubuntu was evident at catering company Empact Group on a sunny day on September 23.

Situated in Frankenwald, the company held a Heritage Day braai in which their employees took part in a braai master competition.

The challenge featured individuals in groups who were judged for their braaing skills and food presentation by a panel of judges.

“We are all celebrating our cultures in one space. The organisers made it fun for people by organising a braai competition in which the majority [of employees] participated. I prepared chakalaka and Greek salad which compliments the meat very well. I know that my team, Soke’lishious, will win,” said employee Precious Kekana.

After the braai competition, there was a talent show in which participants sang, danced or read poetry.

According to Annie Hodes of the company, the braai challenge was won by Health Hot Chilli Peppers, first place in the talent competition was awarded to the Mass Choir and the best dressed for the event were Shandra Napier and Loyiso Mgaju.
