Musicians prepare the new instalment of Coke Studio
Senior director of Coca-Cola category Africa Silke Bucker shares with guests and musicians plans of Coke Studio's relaunch in Africa and states that the campaign will bring cultures closer during the official announcement at the Hard Rock Café in Sandton.
International beverage giants, Coca-Cola, were the topic of discussion in Sandton on September 8.
Key officials from the company announced the relaunching of their musical collaboration campaign, Coke Studio with local prominent figures.
The event, which took place at the Hard Rock Café in Sandton, had influencers, musicians and fashion designers sharing their own stories about how music has impacted them in their professions and personal life.
Celebrities who attended were Mihlali Ndamase, Lloyiso, Ch’cco, Amaroto, Dj Zinhle and television presenter Moozlie who directed the event with ease as the hostess.
Moozlie wasted no time introducing members of the panel discussion to the guests: rapper Focalistic, famous music duo and brothers Majorsteez, head of Coca-Cola market Africa Diego Recalde, senior director of Coca-Cola category Africa Silke Bucker and the marketing manager of Coke Studio, Terrisha Naidoo. Each speaker added their own vision and goals for the campaign.
“Coke Studio is a wonderful platform that visually shows what happens when you bring different people together and what magic can come out from that session. I always say that there are three things that bring people together: football, music and Coca-Cola. With this relaunch, we don’t just want to be sponsors but we want to actively contribute to various cultures and to music,” said Bucker. “The main change is that we have now prioritised using digital platforms to connect with music lovers from all over the world.”
During the discussion, Focalistic mentioned that he loves collaborating with other artists and hearing their versions of their home stories and how they connect with him.
The final phase of the function followed a special moment where musicians and guests wished Recalde a happy birthday as DJ Zinhle rocked the house of rock. Before the night ended, guests got to see some of their favourite artists perform.
