Bramley Police investigate after motorist’s held at gun point in Marlboro

Bramley Police detectives are investigating a case in Marlboro Gardens after a motorist was reportedly held at gun point along Marlboro Drive.

Bramley police confirmed that it is investigating a case after a motorist was reportedly held at gunpoint in Marlboro Gardens.

According to Bramley Police Station spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi, the complainant reported that an unknown vehicle approached and blocked his vehicle on the corner of Marlboro and Zinnia drives.

The suspect, who was armed with a firearm, got out of the car and approached the motorist with the firearm raised and pointed at him.

“It is alleged further that the complainant, fearing for his life, pulled out his [own] firearm and shot through the windscreen towards the man who was in front of his vehicle.”

Mogodi added that the suspect allegedly dropped his firearm and ran away towards Zinnia Drive while the unknown vehicle drove away along Marlboro Drive in an easterly direction.

“The police were called to the scene and only found that the firearm dropped by the suspect was actually a toy gun [replica firearm].”

No arrests were made but police did open a case of pointing a firearm. The matter remains under investigation.
