Local celebs cook off in Kramerville

Local celebrities took on the challenge this Africa Day, learning the ins and outs of authentic African food in Kramerville.

Local celebrities came together to celebrate all things African on May 26 in Kramerville.

TV personality Bonginkosi Dlamini and comedian Lesego Tlhabi joined the likes of African enthusiast Adetunji Omo, UN Filmmaker Sara Chitambo and Miss South Africa 2021 Lalela Mswane as they tried their hand at creating authentic African food.

With the assistance of the Why Cook Studio chefs, guests enthusiastically took up the challenge. From African-style coconut chicken to grilled tilapia, guests learned the ins and outs of African cooking techniques, all while discovering more about Africa’s unique cuisine.

They were also quizzed on some Africa history and current affairs.

Hosted by Brand South Africa, as part of their Play Your Part programme, the event played a crucial role in communicating the country’s integral relationship with the rest of the continent, both culturally and economically.
