The might Warriors FC prepare for the Gauteng Development League

Parkmore’s very own Warriors FC has earned its spot through hard work and dedication to participate in the prestige development league known as the Gauteng Development League (GDL).

Early last year, Warriors FC partnered with the South African Premier Division team, TS Galaxy. At the time, both entities gained a lot from each other, however, within a couple of months, they came to a mutual agreement to terminate their partnership. Warriors FC was left to search for new talent after TS Galaxy recruited a few of their players.

Despite the obstacle of seeking new players in preparation for the league, Warriors FC kept calm knowing very well that an abundance of talented players would grace their presence. Warriors FC is currently in search of football players ranging from the ages of six to 18 who are situated around Sandton.

Director and founder of Wanderers Discovery Soccer Park Moïra Valkin said, “We have a few spaces available for exceptional players in the area who would love to try out and join the team. We concentrate on quality from a young age, the coaches work really hard to develop the player’s potential to reach great heights. We are really hoping to leave a mark.”

The team is making its debut in the league under its own name and hopes to use its underdog status as an advantage. Coach Mocks Maseko added, “I love a good challenge so I’m not scared at all. I got faith in my boys and they will represent us well. My job at the end of the day is to guide, motivate and advise my players. I am looking forward to playing against TS Galaxy.”

The highly-anticipated match between the two teams is all set and ready. Warriors FC has already predicted the outcome of the results based on their strategic planning. The league begins towards the end of April.
