Lutendo the artist manifests standing ovations and encores with his talents

BRYANSTON – Bryanston High School learner Lutendo Tshikwatamba has never felt any greater joy than displaying art through movement and sound.

Lutendo Tshikwatamba seems like your typical, everyday teenager in plain sight but he possesses many hidden talents that would make Boyz II Men recruit him as the fifth member of the group.

The talented dancer and singer recently performed amongst hundreds of individuals at the Gauteng Women in Sports Awards on March 25 with his creative partner, Ntando Ncube.

Bryanston High School learner Lutendo, who goes by the name of Lutendo Norman Junior when performing, has never felt any greater joy than displaying art through movement and sound. The Fourways resident explained how his venture into performing came as no surprise due to his family background.

“All of my family members are musically talented in their own way. I got my singing voice from my mother and grandparents. We also do have a couple of family members that do play instruments such as my little sister and uncle [mother’s brother]. Although working, my mother has had opportunities to perform at various well-known conferences. I look up to all of them,” said Lutendo.

The dancer and his music partner, Ntando, received news that they would be performing on the same stage with well-known local artist Brian Temba during the award ceremony.

“The partner that I performed with does level Grade 6 piano and can read music very well so during our initial preparation for the award we discussed what we would do and it went smooth. The performance was amazing and one of the biggest highlights of my life. I shared it with my family, music partner and prominent figures,” concluded Lutendo.
