Opening doors for local businesses

BRYANSTON – Marking the 10th edition of Proudly SA’s flagship event, the hybrid event (in-person and online) will take place in Sandton from March 14 to 16.

Proudly South Africa continues to make strides in expanding the platform for local businesses, big or small.

This was according to CEO Eustance Mashimbye, at the media launch for this year’s Buy Local Summit and Expo in Bryanston on February 24.

Localisation remains at the centre of the country’s economic recovery plans, which were previously outlined by President Cyril Ramaphosa during the State of the Nation address, said Mashimbye.

“The summit plays a key role in supporting these efforts by showcasing the wide range of quality and competitive South African goods and services on offer.”

This year’s summit has a dynamic offering that includes sessions on technical innovation, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, job creation and the benefits and impact of special economic zones on location.

Mashimbye added that the summit also aims to educate consumers and corporates on the considerable benefits of localisation while offering small business owners and entrepreneurs training and networking opportunities to drive industrialisation and local business support.

“We at Proudly South Africa aim to ensure that those who make purchasing decisions, in the public, sector private sector and those of us in the community, choose locally manufactured products. We all make a purchasing decision at some point in our day, so why not choose local?”
