Reach for Recovery champions ahead

SANDTON – While local non-profit Reach for Recovery supported a phenomenal 1 443 breast cancer patients last year, the hard work only continues for its volunteers.

While local non-profit Reach for Recovery supported a phenomenal 1 443 breast cancer patients last year, the hard work only continues for its volunteers.

This was according to chairperson Stephné Jacobs in her New Year’s message, aimed at motivating the volunteers and community at large to continue the much-needed work that it does.

“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you amazing volunteers for your support and dedication. In countless instances, you went the extra mile to render our services,” said Jacobs.

Solely run by volunteers, Reach for Recovery is a breast cancer support organisation with a unique focus on patient support.

“It is built on a simple yet universal principle that of one woman who has experienced breast cancer herself giving freely of her time and experience to assist and support another woman with breast cancer.”
She added that the organisation’s mission for the year ahead remains no different; the volunteers will only push harder to reach more people who require their assistance.

“We want every person diagnosed with breast cancer to have access to our meaningful life-altering emotional and practical support,” said Jacobs.
