Ward councillor of Ward 109 encourages her community to help out those who are in need

WENDYWOOD – Coogan encouraged her community to look after themselves by taking safety precautions during the festive season.

From working as a public relations councillor to becoming a ward councillor, Lori Coogan has thanked everyone who supported her during the course of 2021 and looks forward to building a strong relationship with her community through solving their problems.

The newly appointed Ward 109 councillor pays respect to those who have lost their jobs, loved ones and to those who have lost their lives due to the pandemic.

With the presence of the fourth wave, Coogan encouraged her community to look after themselves by taking safety precautions during the festive season and urged them to take the opportunity of spending quality time catching up with forgotten books, relaxing, developing new skills and taking walks around the garden. The ward councillor also advised them to adhere Covid-19 regulations.

She asked the community to lend a helping hand to those who have been greatly affected by the pandemic by donating items that are no longer of use or items that have been outgrown. While she has ‘no idea what the future holds’ due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, she is hopeful that with the help of the community, things will get better for the future of Ward 109 and South Africa.

β€œIn our ward and as a city, we can and we will improve the services to our residents. The ward will have community centres repaired and functional in 2022, so that our communities can enjoy the various activities and spaces available in their areas. Service delivery will be streamlined and communication of relevant information about the city will be increased. I look forward to 2022 with you,” concluded Coogan.
