A year of goodwill and humanity for Rotary Morningside
MORNINGSIDE – The club also hosted a Christmas food drive at Morningside Shopping Centre in the first week of December.
As the year draws to a close, the Rotary Club of Morningside would like to thank the Sandton community for making a year of goodwill and humanity.
“In the face of the pandemic, our community has shown its true colours by stepping up to provide much-needed food relief to the less privileged communities of Diepsloot and Munsieville,” said Rotarian Jack Chen.
Chen added that the community rallied together even with the high unemployment rates, Covid-19 and rising food prices.

Through a series of emergency food drives held at the Pick ‘n Pay in Morningside Shopping Centre, the club was able to collect non-perishable goods such as samp, beans, pap, tins of food clothing and blankets donated by shoppers.
Bakkie-loads of donations were distributed to shelters, creches and feeding schemes in Diepsloot and Munsieville.
