Help the lions bring festive cheer

BENMORE – According to club president Mark Meltzer, the club has been supporting the guide-dogs association for over 30 years.

Help the Johannesburg Wild Lions Club of Benmore bring a little festive cheer to the South African Guide-Dogs Association.

The local service club recently kicked off its 1kg Lions Christmas Cake drive to help raise funds for the service dogs.

According to club president Mark Meltzer, the club has been supporting the guide-dogs association for over 30 years.

All of the funds raised from the public are directly donated to the association. “[We have] sponsored a number of guide dogs over the years to be trained to assist a blind person.]”

The club is well-known to the community for hosting a number of food drives, collecting more than R12 000 worth of non-perishable food donated from the residents to distribute to those in need.
