DB Moloisane hopes to see Ward 32 in harmony

BUCCLEUCH – Moloisane's introduction to the world of politics began where he was born and raised, North West

DB Moloisane is the new ward councillor for Ward 32 and the DA party member is not afraid to take matters into his own hands, especially when it comes to the development of his community.

Moloisane was born and raised in North West and growing up he noticed issues affecting his community such as the lack of job opportunities for the youth, neglect of communities by the government, and he worried he could not doing anything about it.

“One important aspect for me is safety,” he said. “I try my outmost best to address the crime issue in our country because it is a result of the high unemployment rate. Unemployed people get disgruntled and they view crime as a quick way to provide for themselves and for their families. Same applies with corruption within our government, we need to address this in order to move forward.”

Once he moved from North West in 2006, Moloisane started looking for solutions through various political parties.

“At the time where I stayed in Norwood, I shopped around for political parties hoping that at least one would hear my concerns and solutions. African National Congress rejected me and I never heard [back] from Congress of the People.”

An opportunity came knocking on the youngster’s door when his ward councillor of the Democratic Alliance, who happened to know him from the Community Police Forum, suggested to him an opportunity of a lifetime.

“My ward councillor encouraged me to apply to the DA Young Leaders Programme. Eventually I decided on going through with the programme and now I’m here. That was around 2011 and now I am a newly appointed ward councillor for Ward 32. This is a fight that I am willing to take on, on behalf of the residents. In the next five years, I want my actions to do all the talking.”
