Crawford Sandton gymnast excels
BENMORE – Ashleigh Accone competed as a level six gymnast, level 10 being the highest.

This Crawford International Sandton gymnast continues to jump to new heights.
After successfully qualifying for the regional and provincial rounds, 15-year-old Ashleigh Accone recently took home a bronze medal, finishing in overall third place in the South African Gym Games.
The national tournament hosted by Gymnastics South Africa invited gymnasts to compete across all disciplines.

Leading up to the tournament, Ashleigh took home a bronze medal for vault and two silver medals for bar, and a second overall finish in the regional round.
She then went on to nab two bronze medals for vault and a third overall finish in the provincial round.
According to the Grade 9 learner, it was extremely rewarding to see all of her hard work pay off.

“I put in as many hours as I could [eight to 10 hours a week] and I put my energy into focusing on the competition [SA Gym Games],” she said.
