Bryanston Organic Market embraces Heritage Day

BRYANSTON – "We need to always remember where we came from and what it means for us Africans to go forward," says Dubuisson.

Bryanston Organic Market celebrated Heritage Day on September 24 by embracing cultural diversity through art, clothes, accessories, music and food.

The market also collected donations for social upliftment and community development organisation, The Cradle of Hope.
Sarah Mbotshwa, marketing and online coordinator of the market and her team decided that this year the market would celebrate Heritage Day by giving back to people in need, and bring back ubuntu to the community of Bryanston.

On the day, children were entertained by various performers and activities that encouraged them to socialise and have fun while learning more about other cultures. There was plenty of food to eat and cultural attire to buy.

Attendee Pierre Dubuisson, who is no stranger to the market, said he enjoyed the day while he embraced various cultures in one location.

“It’s always a good vibe in the market, especially today. I have been attending for two years now and days like today are really special as I get to witness the whole community get together and to just go back to our roots. We need to always remember where we came from and what it means for us Africans to go forward,” added Dubuisson.

The Heritage Day was successful in celebration of cultures coming together as one.
