#LIVELIMITLESS on 4 September

Whether you run, walk or jog the SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge 2021, it’s your time to #LIVELIMITLESS

Johannesburg, 30 August 2021: The sun is out, and so will be the runners, joggers, and walkers in their numbers for this year’s SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge. It is not only spring that is in the air but also the excitement about Saturday, 4 September 2021, when participants get to #LiveLimitless.

Over the last year and a half, the world has grown accustomed to being locked down and restricted for the greater good. But we have also found ways to defy these limits without compromising each other’s health and wellbeing.

Now in its second year, the SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge is a tribute to human ingenuity and an example of how we always find a way. The resounding success of the inaugural Virtual Challenge proved that it is possible to host a popular running event safely during a pandemic.

We all miss the excitement of gathering at the start line and the relief of crossing the finish line, the sense of camaraderie and accomplishment. But the beauty of the Virtual Challenge is that there are no limits to how you run, walk or jog your race as long as you do it safely and responsibly.

You decide your route, pace, and whether you do it alone, with family, friends, or neighbours. Remember to share your Virtual Challenge with us by posting on social media platforms and using the hashtags #LiveLimitless #SPARVirtualChallenge.

“SPAR looks forward to once again see videos and photos of how Virtual Challenge participants from all corners of South Africa choose to #LiveLimitless,” said Charleen Goschen, marketing director, SPAR South Rand.

“The Virtual Challenge is not a race it is a celebration of all the women of South Africa and a show of appreciation for their incredible resilience.”

Remember to stay hydrated by drinking water on the day of the SPAR Virtual Challenge.

The SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge is designed to bring women from all walks of life together, and we do believe in “the more, the merrier!”

However, the number of people that may walk or run together is determined by Covid-19 related government regulations. So, please check these before you get your group together to ensure that you comply with all the relevant measures.

The 2021 SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge boasts more than 50 000 online entries at the end of the registration deadline. Although entries have closed for this year’s race, SPAR can make special concessions. Persons desperate for an entry can contact the general race enquiries line. Contact Sophia on 011 203 5303/074 750 7186 (weekdays 8am – 5pm) for a last chance at securing a spot.

Virtual Challenge pack collection will open from August 27, 2021, to September 3, 2021. If you selected the courier option, your Virtual Challenge pack will be delivered by The Courier Guy between August 18 and September 3, 2021.

Unfortunately, entrants residing outside South Africa will not receive a virtual challenge pack due to postal restrictions and courier fees. Your entry fee will still contribute to donating a pack of sanitary products for a schoolgirl in need.
