Steyn City launches Ultimate Helistop, a first for SA residential estates
FOURWAYS – The parking pads have been laid out in such a way that makes it possible to load up to three helicopters at a time, so there is no delay between taxi and take off, even if more than one flight has been scheduled.
Steyn City achieved a first for a residential estate in South Africa when it launched its Ultimate Helistop this past weekend.
The Ultimate Helistop has been part of the master plan for Steyn City since inception, explained Steyn City Properties CEO Giuseppe Plumari at the opening on Saturday 21 August, adding that he believed the inclusion of this unique facility furthers their goal of offering residents a lifestyle rooted in both convenience and luxury.
After all, access to helicopter flights is an enormous time saver – not only for busy executives wishing to travel swiftly to the next meeting but also for people who wish to skip the traffic on the way to their weekend getaway.
Flights may also be booked as gifts – for enthusiastic golfers who would like to experience the Steyn City Nicklaus design championship golf course or couples and friends wishing to experience the XIX Nineteen Restaurant at Steyn City during a fly-in trip, for example, or for a birthday or anniversary surprise. Plumari emphasised that the Ultimate Helistop is not reserved for the use of Steyn City residents alone, but it may be enjoyed by all who live in Gauteng.
The configuration of the parking pads makes it possible to load up to three helicopters at a time, so there is no delay between taxi and take-off, even if more than one flight has been scheduled.
Additional services include a beautifully designed reception, lounge and viewing area, a convenient office suite with a meeting pod (ideal for people who need to have a last-minute meeting before taking off) and washroom/shower facilities.
