Happy Father’s Day: Competition brought us such joy!
The Sandton Chronicle wishes all types of 'dads' a happy Father's Day!
Father figures are so important in the development of a child’s life, whether it’s tata, oom, daddy or even mum – they keep us safe and strong.
Often, the best present to show appreciation is a thoughtfully written message of love and admiration.
The Sandton Chronicle invited Grade 5 learners from Sandton schools to submit a 200-word essay about their father figure. Boy, did we receive a ton of entries!
A massive congratulations to all who entered our Sandton Chronicle Father’s Day Essay Competition!
Your essays brought both a bundle of giggles and a pool of tears to our newsroom.
Each learner received a voucher courtesy of the Chronicle and a restaurant voucher from Smoke Daddy’s.
Michael Evlambiou, on behalf of Smoke Daddy’s (Fourways), said, “We think all types of father figures deserve a treat and we hope to share some smoky goodness with the winners. Well done all who entered, we can’t wait to celebrate with you!”
In such a troubling time, it warmed our hearts to see such love for all father figures.
The writing was incredible, we can see some potential journalists in the making.
Congratulations to all who entered.
