Comrades Marathon winner Bruce Fordyce launches book

BLAIRGOWRIE – Learn how to be a great runner from one of the best: Bruce Fordyce.

Nine-times Comrades Marathon winner Bruce Fordyce launched his book Winged Messenger, at Believe Eatery in Blairgowrie.

The event kicked off at 7pm on 25 May and entry was free but community members were asked to book their spots.

The book is a guide specific to Comrades novices including personal training diaries and anecdotes from times gone by.

Fordyce is also the co-founder of parkrun South Africa. He recently told Randburg Sun the parkruns will not be able to reopen in the country until restrictions allow for more than a thousand people to gather.

Delta Park and Golden Harvest Park used to see more than a thousand runners at their free runs every Saturday morning. Other local parkruns, such as those at Alberts Farm and Len Rutter Park, are a few hundred. But to allow some parkruns to resume and not others, is not a question for Fordyce.
