The Cross Trainer introduces new private label called XT

SANDTON CITY – Local business celebrates over 25 years in business with the launch of their own brand.

Made in Johannesburg for Africa to enjoy, a new athleisure label is being locally sourced and produced for the self-expressive youth.

In an intimate reveal at Sandton City on 24 March, The Cross Trainer introduced their new private label called XT. A family-owned business, CEO and founder Mark Frame said that it is about time more local brands are supported.

“For decades young people have used fashion for self-expression and have found a sense of belonging among those who share a similar sense of style. Hanging out at the same spots, young people listen to the same music and they hold strong global views as connectivity has enabled them to live in a global village,” said Frame.

He added that Covid-9 has taught the world a lot of things and being more appreciative is important.

Catering to the South African market, the label is for the hot and trendy go-getter.

“We wanted to stay aligned with our brand as well. The label is for the aspirational youth who wants to look good while uplifting themselves,” said marketing manager Vanessa Goddess.

She said that especially during this time, there are a lot of people who are looking for work, naturally, this will help with job creation as well while keeping it so local.

Frame mentioned that with everything being done right here at home, production will also run faster while creating employment, putting money back into the economy and remaining affordable for the South African market.
