Saints comes alive with colour for a good cause

BRYANSTON – To ensure that every learner and teacher was able to get in on the fun the school was forced to change its approach this year.

Just before the half-term break kicked off, Stithians College hosted its very own Spray-a-thon on 25 February.

The much-loved and well-supported event in support of the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) has been part of the Saints community for the past 10 years. This year, however, was a little different to adhere to Covid-19 health and safety regulations.

To ensure that every learner and teacher was able to get in on the fun, the school was forced to change its approach. Instead of having teams of campus admin staff and Thandulwazi Mathematics and Science Academy interns visit each school on campus, the school coordinated the spraying internally. Unfortunately, no shaving was possible this year

β€œThe shavathon is the adopted outreach project for the college administrative staff and is coordinated every year by our incredible human resources team of Hengie McInnes, Kim Urquhart, Lerato Dire and Lukhanyiso Msutu. We thank them for all their efforts in ensuring the smooth running of the day,” noted the school in a thank you post on social media.
