Brescia House shares the love

BRYANSTON – According to the school's head of marketing and admissions Helga Bishop, the love was truly in the air as the school managed to round up over 1 000 cupcakes and muffins for donation.

The community of Brescia House School in Bryanston used this Valentine’s Day to show their gratitude.

The staff and learners were encouraged to bake and donate cupcakes and muffins as gestures of love and appreciation for the healthcare workers serving on the frontline.

According to the school’s head of marketing and admissions Helga Bishop, the love was truly in the air as the school managed to round up over 1 000 cupcakes and muffins for donation.

“The way the staff and pupils responded to this request was truly overwhelming with over 1 100 predominantly home-made cupcakes being donated,” she said.

A majority of the baked goods were delivered to the frontline workers at Witkoppen Clinic. “One of the medic-interns had tears streaming down his face as they helped unload the car.”

Bishop added that a smaller delivery was made to the staff at one of the nearby Covid-19 testing stations who simply could not believe anyone remembered that they too are front-line workers.

“The school is very thankful to all who contributed towards the project and helped bring a smile to a great many people with this simple gesture,” she concluded.
