Sandton police arrest 25 suspects for various crimes over the weekend

SANDTON – 25 suspects were arrested for a number of different criminal activities within the Sandton policing precinct over the weekend.

Sandton police arrested 25 suspects for various crimes over the weekend of 22 to 24 January.

Spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station Captain Bheki Xulu said the arrests were conducted for the following crimes: car hijacking (2), shoplifting (3), possession of drugs (1), housebreaking and theft (1), fraud (2), possession of suspected stolen property and truck hijacking (2), sexual offences (5), possession of dagga (6), possession of an unlicensed firearm (1), violating a court order (1), and violation of the Disaster Management Act (1).

Station Commander Brigadier Egen Moodley requested community members to work alongside police and other law enforcement agencies to discourage criminal activities by reporting it to Crime Stop on 086 001 0111 or Sandton police on 011 722 4200.
