Covid-19 recoveries in Joburg’s Region E continue to rise

JOBURG – The region, which includes the suburbs of Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton, has confirmed a total of 22 575 recoveries and 24 792 cases of Covid-19.

Covid-19 recoveries in Johannesburg’s region E continue to increase.

The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that the region recorded 332 recoveries and 164 new infections as at 21 January.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 recoveries to 22 575 and 24 792 cases.

The region covers the suburbs of Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.

Also in the northern suburbs, region B recorded an increase of 194 recoveries and 151 new cases of Covid-19. This amounts to a total of 17 342 recoveries and 19 018 cases.

The region includes the suburbs Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.

The City of Johannesburg has recorded a total of 147 928 (1141 new cases) cases and 133 577 recoveries, while 2 272 people have lost their lives to the novel virus.
