Strength in community at Micheal Mount

The school management team, parents and staff have worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of all.

The Michael Mount Waldorf School community looks back on a wonderful community-driven year.

According to Mandy Triaca, marketing and communications liaison for the Bryanston-based school, the Micheal Mount community proved its resilience when it took on the challenge of the lockdown.

“As a community, we did a 360-degree turn at the start of lockdown. Suddenly, every child had access to technology, every parent ensured participation in online schooling and the staff learnt how to navigate the complexities of Zoom and Microsoft Teams,” she said.

Triaca added that from the outside the transition may have appeared to be seamless, and to come degree it was. “The phased-in return to a semblance of normality has been a revelation for many. The school management team, parents and staff have worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of all.”

“Children who were used to running around with abandon at break times, now sit, angelically, and chat with friends whilst eating their lunch. If anything, despite the challenges, this year has made us closer, stronger and even more able to face whatever challenges lie ahead.”

Michael Mount Waldorf School would like to wish its community and all Sandton Chronicle readers a safe and happy festive season.
