Bryanston Primary unites through online learning

BRYANSTON – Acting principal highlights valuable lessons from 2020.

Acting principal of Bryanston Primary School, Morne Marx said the school’s effort to embrace online learning, lockdown teaching and staggered school days had brought the school closer together.

Marx said the school’s online portal commenced on 16 April, which he believed would change the face of education in the future.

He also highlighted the welcoming of the new Grade 1s, inter-house swimming gala, Heritage Day dress up, Jerusalema challenge and a number of other events which provided some positive energy.

Marx said he looked forward to having the school family back next year for the academic day as well as functions.

“My biggest wish for 2021 is to see all my smiling kids together in one hall, singing Bryanston’s Call.”

Speaking to the local community, Marx said, “Go into this festive season with an attitude of gratefulness. My wish for 2021 is that we all understand that we are not entitled to anything. Be grateful for what you have, as this year has taught us a few valuable lessons.”

He listed the following lessons he had learned:

  • You are stronger than you think
  • You are more adaptable than you ever thought
  • Value your health. Health and family are the most important assets anyone can have
  • Everything is temporary
  • Don’t sweat the small stuff.
