Covid-19 recoveries on the rise in Joburg’s northern suburbs

JOBURG – The Johannesburg district has recorded a total of 82 969 cases and 74 412 recoveries while 1 295 people have lost their lives to the novel virus.

In its latest sub-district breakdown the Gauteng Department of Health confirmed that Covid-19 recoveries in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs continue to rise at a steady pace.

As of 24 August, Region B recorded a total of 8 967 cases and 8 240 recoveries while Region E recorded a total of 13 435 cases and 11 328 recoveries.

Region B includes the suburbs of Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North. Region E includes the suburbs of Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.

A total of 365 cases and 53 recoveries remain unallocated.
