Less than 16 per cent of Covid-19 cases in Joburg’s Region B remain active
JOBURG – Suburbs in Region B include Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North.
The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed that Johannesburg’s northern suburbs of Region B has recorded 8 546 cases of Covid-19 as of 12 August.
The region, which includes Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown and Parktown North, also recorded 7 218 recoveries.
Also in the northern suburbs, Region E recorded 12 877 total cases and 9 936 recoveries.
Suburbs in Region E include Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove and Houghton.
The Johannesburg district recorded 78 794 cases, an increase of 192 cases, and 65 129 recoveries while 1 084 people have lost their lives to the novel virus.
A total of 363 cases and 84 recoveries in the district remain unallocated.
