Brace yourself as fourth cold front hits Joburg this winter

JOBURG – Pull out those spare blankets and warm clothes, to donate to charities catering for those in desperate need.

It is time to once again get out your coats and hot water bottles as the fourth cold front of this year’s winter season is expected to hit the city of gold later today (14 July).

According to the South African Weather Service, the cold front is expected to move to the central and eastern parts of the country today.

This includes Gauteng, Free State, Eastern Cape, North West, KwaZulu-Natal and the highveld of Mpumalanga.

“Temperatures are expected to drop to the low teens,” said the weather service in a statement.

Residents are also warned of serve frost in these areas.

Gauteng Weather noted the following temperatures for Johannesburg and Pretoria: 

As the cold weather is only expected to ease up on Saturday, communities are encouraged to think of the less fortunate and those who require more care during this time.
