Get the ‘Louw’ down on fashion and beauty

Paying attention to the weather forecast can help you plan and step out of your comfort zone by wearing a hat or head piece.

Image and beauty consultant Francois Louw has been keeping it trendy this lockdown.

A Sandton resident and fashion expert, he lets us in on all things fashion and beauty for the winter. Winter is a stressful time for some, more so amid the Covid-19 lockdown, and Louw shared how to beat the winter blues.”Be sensible and remember sensible can still be chic,” he said.

He also mentioned that investing in winter coats would always be useful. Paying attention to the weather forecast can help you plan and step out of your comfort zone by wearing a hat or head piece. Onto the beauty, Louw suggested that beauty treatments were always the best. “Our skin becomes so dry and dull in winter, it is essential to get rid of excess flaked skin which is hard to do with just an ordinary skin scrub. I regularly go for a green peel facial at my aesthetic doctor which instantly rejuvenates my skin.”

He added that using a make-up sealant could help to lock in moisture and a powder foundation would eliminate blotches throughout the day. “Looking good is essential so always keep a mirror on you so you can touch up whenever you need to.”

Louw admitted that the pandemic had made a very big difference in his life, and keeping up a positive spirit and adapting had allowed him to take some time out to think about 2021. “Covid-19 made a dramatic difference to my life and my business. I had to assess if this business can function during lockdown or during any crisis and the answer was no. But as a proud South African, we are taught to very quickly make plans and create opportunities to make sure the boat stays afloat.”

Excited about what’s to come, Louw will launch a hair care range and beard range just in time for Movember. We can also look forward to see him on our TV screens later this year. “My most exciting project will soon be seen on your screens.”Motivated for the future, Louw encouraged people to never give up on their dreams, especially during these hard times.  “Our nation is built on dreams and it took decades. Someone once said to me, ‘In 10 years’ time you will be an overnight success’. Eventually, today it makes sense.”
