Early morning queues outside liquor stores as SA moves to Level 3
SANDTON β The public are permitted to purchase alcohol for home consumption during lockdown Alert Level 3.
As the country transitioned to lockdown Alert Level 3 on 1 June, residents across Sandton took up the opportunity to replenish their supply on alcohol.
During Level 3, members of the public are able to purchase alcohol for home consumption from Mondays to Thursdays between 9am and 5pm.
Social media users were sure to document their thoughts and experiences as they stood in line outside various stores in Bryanston, Hyde Park and Woodmead.

Woodmead, in particular, was highlighted among users as lines formed outside the store as early as 3am.
