Sandton Central remains dedicated

Sandton Central Management District continues to play a vital role in managing the urban spaces of the country’s business capital.

The management district oversees the public space bounds of Sandton Drive, Katherine Street into Wierda Road east and west, West Street, Rivonia Road and Grayston Drive. According to City Improvement District (CID) manager, Elaine Jack, the management district’s security “Men in Red” and cleaning services have continued to work throughout the lockdown to ensure the safety of the area.

“We have ensured that our people receive the necessary information and resources to deliver these services safely and with the required physical distancing, personal protection equipment and hygiene,” said Jack. She added management were also in the process of compiling a dedicated page on its website for information about the various level of the lockdown and how it will impact everyone who visits, lives and works in Sandton Central.

“[We] believe this will become a valuable tool for our community.”She noted that many of the businesses in the district are at the forefront of the county’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic. “While we have been sharing their laudable and innovative efforts in the fight to flatten the curve, we have been actively driving corporates and individuals to support and donate to Rays of Hope.

“The Rays of Hope Foundation has actively supported the vulnerable households of Alexandra for 29 years.”Sandton Central has been using our popular social media and digital platforms to encourage support [for] Rays of Hope as well as share vital information about the Covid-19 response that is both specific to Sandton Central and generally applies to the entire country,” Jack said.
