Moving house permitted under level 4

Movers are urged to comply with Covid-19 regulations and directives issued by the Department Transport.

Individuals who purchased homes before the commencement of the lockdown will now be allowed to relocate and move their goods, under strict regulations in level 4 of the lockdown, but only until 7 June.

The revised regulations were published by Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma in the Government Gazette on 7 May.

The regulations include new lease agreements and businesses moving to new premises.

Movements to new residences can only be done on a once off basis between 7 May and 7 June.

Permits obtained from the police station are required to carry out relocations within and across provincial, metropolitan and district boundaries.

Movers are urged to comply with Covid-19 regulations and directives issued by the Department of Transport.

Previously, only the deeds office was allowed to operate but a number of changes were made with strict conditions.
