Bryanston and surrounding areas left without power as City Power repairs feeder board

SANDTON – City Power estimates that power should be back after four hours.

City Power has shut down the Brynorth substation because of emergency repairs to carry out emergency repairs on one of the feeder boards.

The shutdown started at 12pm this afternoon (25 March) and is expected to end at 4pm.

“The shutdown is to enable City Power technicians to work on repairs on one of the feeder boards to ensure we have a back-up should the active one run into trouble. If this is not done and there is a failure, it will take over 24 hours to repair and restore power,” said City Power.
