Sibling karatekas reign champions

LYME PARK – St Stithian's siblings concur the karate championships on a continental scale.

St Stithians siblings Claudia and Nicholas Dobson came out on top in their respective karate championship.

Claudia was selected by Karate South Africa to compete in the National U21, Seniors and Veterans Championship 2020 held in Cape Town from 7 to 8 March. She won the gold medal and is, therefore, the National Champion in the U21 Female Kumite +68kg division.

Nicholas represented South Africa at this year’s Union Federation of Africa Karate Championships in Tangier, Morocco from 7 to 9 February. He won the bronze medal in the Team Kata Junior Male division. Team Kata came in an overall third to Egypt and Morocco – currently top 4 in the World Karate Federation (WKF).
