Bryanston Country Club hosted a successful monthly open for golf teams

Women from surrounding golf clubs in Joburg had a fun-filled day at Bryanston Country Club.

The club hosts monthly Opens every second Wednesday of the month.

Seventy women were treated to a game of golf and were able to network with each other. At the end of the event, prizes were handed out to the best golfers on the day.

“Every month we have a colour theme and obviously with March having St Patrick’s Day, our colour theme was green,” said Bronwen Lambert, captain of the Bryanston team.

She added that their aim was to bring together friends to enjoy the facilities at Bryanston Country Club, and it was an opportunity for them to showcase the club and get to promote women’s golf.

Lambert said the turnout was amazing and she hoped to see more women participating in the future.

“We had good scores for the golf and we had great sponsors. We also invite new businesses to sponsor and expose their products or services to people in the area.”

Lambert said everyone who participated did their best and everyone was a winner. First place with 89 points went to Fiona Douglas, Jenny Feildgate, Tessa Hellens and Mandy Oldham. In second place on 86 points were Teresa Burton, Fiona Gent, Lambert and Marian Heaney.

“The day went very well and everyone was pleased with how everything ended. We are hoping to host more of these successful events for our golf ladies.”
