Grandchildren get to show appreciation to their grandparents at Bryandale Primary School

BRYANDALE – Grandparents got to spend time with their grandchildren and watched what they do in their classes.

Bryandale Primary School hosted an event for grandparents to come and spend the day with their grandchildren. Grandparents went to their classes and watched their grandchildren do what they do on a daily basis. It was their way of celebrating their grandparents and to show them appreciation.

The Sandton Chronicle attended the event and asked parents why they think it is important to celebrate Grandparents Day with their grandchildren. This is what they had to say…

VASANTHIE PILLAY: I’m here at this event because my grandchild comes to this school. So far I’m enjoying it, I’ve got to meet the teacher and other grandparents.

MAURICE RADEBE: It’s lovely to see a place like this where children are protected, learning and in a safe space. I see in my grandson that this is a great school.

ALVINA VORSTER: I think is absolutely amazing so many people supporting their grandchildren, it’s amazing.

CRAIG PILLAY: The thing that is really important about grandparents is a heritage of good principles and values that are instilled. It’s very important that we as parents and grandparents are role models to the younger generation for what equality is.
