Golf for a cause
BRYANSTON– It was the first PinkDrive and More Balls Than Most World Cancer Golf Day at the Bryanston Country Club
The weather was great and spirits were high at the first PinkDrive and More Balls Than Most World Cancer Golf Day.
All in the name of charity, players travelled from far and near to support this worthy cause. PinkDrive representative, Nelius du Preez was excited to be hosting this first-ever event in Sandton.
“We took the initiative and said ‘Let’s all come together as South Africans and stand together’. Cancer touches everyone in some way or the other, everyone knows about it so as South Africans and corporates it’s time to do our bit,” he said.
The main aim of the golf day was to raise funds and create awareness for breast, cervical, prostate and testicular cancer all under their respective banners being PinkDrive and More Balls Than Most.
“With our focus being especially gender cancer, we’d also like to celebrate the survivors and remember the lost ones,” he said.
It was a winning recipe for sponsors, sportsmen, survivors and sassy golfers to come together and play their part.
Lions rugby player Robbie Coetzee joined in on the fun. “We’re supporting the More Balls Than Most golf day today, it’s important to create awareness and make an impact,” he said.
The day was a huge success and winners were awarded a two-course dinner, and trophies and prizes from a number of sponsors.
“PinkDrive would like to thank all the sponsors, golfers, Platinum Gold online radio station and specially Bryanston Country Club and their staff for hosting and supporting PinkDrive and More Balls Than Most making this golf day a success,” concluded Du Preez.
They look forward to hosting the next one in 2021.
