Help us turn up the heat with the #ChilliChallenge for a good cause

JOBURG – For the #ChilliChallenge, post a video of yourselves eating a chilli and then nominate your friends to do the same using the hashtag, the challenge is set to raise money for blankets for the less fortunate.

Some of us are lucky enough to have a roof over our heads, heaters to keep us warm and blankets to cuddle up with during the cold winter months, however, for many South Africans these are luxuries.

Brand Hubb said in a statement that they have decided to raise money in the month of July to purchase and donate 2 000 blankets to organisations for the less fortunate across the country.

According to statistics, an estimated 20 000 people are homeless in Johannesburg. The alarming number shows that we should help and provide those in need with our donations not just during the winter months.

Founder of Brand Hubb, Rob Anderson said, “Many people don’t realise that something as small as a blanket can make a huge difference to a person who has very little. As a business, we are always looking for ways to give back to people and we are inviting corporates, agencies and individuals to help us by donating a monetary contribution towards the cause.”

In the campaign, brave participants record themselves eating a chilli and then nominate their friends to do the same using the hashtag #ChilliChallenge.

The second part of the campaign is to donate to the cause by visiting Brand Hubb website

Anderson concluded that the challenge is a great way to build social awareness and rooted in the spirit of giving back.
