Wrap-up afternoon 2019 elections in Sandton

Sandton - Citizens made their mark by partaking in the 2019 elections on 8 May.

Citizens queued at the Ernest Ullman recreation center and at the Bryneven Primary School in Sandton to join the #IMadeMyMark campaign by casting their vote.

The presiding officer (wished to remain anonymous) at the Ernest Ullman recreation center confirmed that they had a busy morning with about 250 people who came through to cast their vote by 9.45am, “We, unfortunately, ran out of forms at around 10am, but they got delivered and now things are back to normal,” she said.

Mike Robertson was happy with the process, “It was quick and super easy. I encourage those who are hesitant to come here and make their mark.”

Naledi Moloto was accompanied by her six-year-old daughter, Sindi Moloto at the Bryneven Primary School. “I just hope that my vote is not going to waste. I hope I actually see change,” said Moloto. “I also wish I can vote, but I am happy that mom took me with,” said Sindi with a big smile on her face.

At the school, there was a coffee vendor to keep the voters warm at the queue. Other refreshments were also sold and the police were there to mediate the election process at both stations.
