Meet your Sector 3 manager for Randburg police
RANDBURG/SANDTON – Randburg Police Station Sector 3 manager provides some safety advice.
It’s time to get to know your Sector 3 manager from Randburg Police Station – meet Captain Hein van Heerden.
Van Heerden has served in the force for 27 years and has been the sector manager since 2000. His sector covers most of Randburg such as Ferndale, Strijdom Park, Kensington B, Malanshof and Robindale to name a few.
He warned that theft out of motor vehicles is still prevalent in his sector. “Do not display valuable items such as laptops, cell phones or expensive jewellery.”
He also advised the community to get involved in their local residents associations (RA). “Focus on strengthening your RA and get involved in community-based projects, start to take ownership of your suburb.”
According to Van Heerden, theft out of motor vehicle hotspots are:
- Malibongwe Drive and Avon Road
- Malibongwe Drive and Hill Road
- William Nicol Drive and Wedgewood Link.
