WATCH: JMPD steps out at Witkoppen and Main roads, catches minibus taxi breaking the law

RIETFONTEIN – This morning, 20 November, journalist Robyn Kirk joins eblockwatch founder Andre Snyman at the corner of Witkoppen and Main roads, and reports as JMPD catches motorists breaking the rules.

Eblockwatch has launched their smart technology in order to catch people that break the law on the roads.

The technology has been dubbed ‘Snakes and Ladders’ by eblockwatch founder Andre Snyman and he explained that this will be a positive solution to a negative situation.

Snyman said the technology is able to capture motorists that break the law and the details of offenders will be handed over to the Johannesburg Metro Police Department.

“This technology will help us to create heat maps for JMPD so that they know where the incidents are happening.”

This morning, 20 November, journalist Robyn Kirk joins Snyman at the corner of Witkoppen and Main roads, and reports as JMPD catches motorists breaking the rules.

MMC for Public Safety, Michael Sun, and Snyman discuss the laws of the road with specific focus on the safety of motorists.

In a previous report on 11 November, journalist Pieter Dempsey reported from the trial run of the technology in Paulshof.

Eblockwatch, together with Craig Burke from Off-Site Monitoring (OSM), will monitor key hotspots and they are asking motorists to help create maps for the Metro police. This will be done through an App.

“Two young South Africans are collaborating across the world to put together an Application for motorists to download for this project. One is in South Africa and the other is in Australia,” said Snyman.
