ICYMI: Caxton Local Media and Magos Media team up at Sandton Convention Centre

SANDTON – Caxton Local Media and Magos Media display their unique project at the Sandton Convention Centre.

Caxton Local Media and Magos Media partnered up to display an exciting new innovation at a Pick n Pay trade expo at the Sandton Convention Centre.

A wide variety of vendors displayed their products at the expo. Caxton and Magos displayed a new concept of consumer promotions which will allow consumers to scan a QR code found in the ad insert of a Caxton Local Newspaper. The code, which is scanned at a participating store, will allow consumers to win a prize.

Tracy Sauders, an accounts manager for Magos Media, explained that a personalised QR code will be printed on the promotions brochure which can then be redeemed in-store in order to draw customers to the store. Saunders added that the goal is to make the promotions brand specific whereby they sponsor the products and can use the promotions to promote their brand.

Karen Watts, a general manager at Caxton said that through the partnership with Caxton, individual QR codes will be printed on the ad inserts within the papers. “It will be printed on a power wrap [ads wrapped around the newspaper] or on a full page ad and readers can then take it into a store and win a prize, so readers can find it within a Sandton Chronicle for example.”
